• Assemble and disassembles temporary structures such as barricades, braces, and scaffolding
• Read and plan blueprints to make sure the diagrams meet specifications
• Apply a specific trade
• Demolish any old structure before construction
• Prep any tools for the workday
• Make sure the job zone is secure from outsiders
• Remove and transports hazardous materials
• Performs masonry and tuck-pointing
• Load and unload materials at the job site

• Use tools to cut materials to desired lengths
• Use machinery to level land to the required grade
• Paint exterior and interior of buildings
• Create compounds, such as concrete, by mixing the proper proportions of water and material
• Set up heating or cooling stations for workers depending on weather
• Spray finishing agents on drywall, concrete, or another medium
• Align and join components such as walls or pipes
• Signal other workers to halt or continue work
• Digs or backfills
• Caulk joints or around structures such as doors
